Piano Studio
We Create Something New

Playing the piano is an amazing art. It trains the mind and body, no matter in what age the study begins (unlike most other activities). More significantly, music trains the spirit and the soul. We look to it for inspiration, comfort, and joy.

As an experienced piano teacher, I can help you and your children create and develop a great relationship with music.

Lesson Location

Lessons will take place in the studio located in Glendale, CA.

Working with children

My teaching philosophy for children is ensuring that the experience is enjoyable and fun! I want to create a lifelong love not only for the piano but for all music. Giving the student the chance to share their music with family and friends is a wonderful gift.

I try to gear my lessons to each individual student whether they have a good technique, are very musical or just trying as hard as they can! I want my students to be excited about the music that they create at the keyboard. Together we will pick out pieces that they want to practice.

For Beginners, I like to use various method books such as Bastien, Alfred, Faber and Glover. It really depends on the individual's needs. It can be different for each student. For beginners I will try to manage the lessons as fun as possible!

For Intermediate students I will introduce to the classics through minuets, waltzes, sonatinas. We will also include ragtime and jazzy pieces. I will definitely welcome any suggestion from the student to include in our repertoire.

For Advanced students together, we will choose from some form of technique such as Czerny, Cramer, Moszkovski, or even Chopin, also compositions from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic or Contemporary period. I also find that sometimes its relaxing and helpful to play “light” music at same time.

I also feel it is extremely important to learn to sight read. The easier it is to read music, the more motivated you will be to learn new music! Another area that is very important to include in a lesson is music theory. This is especially important if you are a beginner or intermediate student. It is much easier to learn a piece if you understand how it is composed.
